Track #1

I dunno, the thought came to me this morning when I woke up. "Hey, I should write something about these fuckers cause I love them so much". Should have started it when they did, but, as long as the first paying gig isn't set yet, this is a good a time to begin as any. So, for fun, and to see how things progress, I, the musically inept Ky, aside from driving, toting, smoking, drinking and cheering for this upcoming band Mirrorlick, will attempt to log ... uhm... the random shit that's been accomplished.

Why not? Maybe they'll all hit the big time and this'll be like... their story. Well whatever. I've been somewhat depreciating the value of recent practices so maybe keeping one of these will be like a scrappy book. I need more incentive to take pictures and video. It'll help and we can organize things summat, right? Aha.

Grats to the dudes! Wade stumbled upon an opportunistic open mic night at Tavern on the Rocks. (Shameless plug, anyone in the area 21 or over go there on Wednesday at 9PM). Alongside with another open mic at Cafe Arabica (shameless plug, Morristown, Tuesday the 22nd at 8PM), that throws them two shows next week. That wasn't the kicker though, the manager of Tavern said that if he liked them enough they'd get a paying gig! Swish. He heard the recording and went bananas over that so we're more than confident when they hear the guys live that the gig is on, hook, line and sinker.

I can't get into Tavern cause I'm not 21 (that makes it even sweeter that they're being permitted to play) so it looks like my brother's going to have to film the event for me. Looking forward to watching them at Arabica though. Too bad there's no flow for a hooka. We spent the entire day yesterday handing out little flyers and such at CCM and the mall. There were 160 of them, I think it twindled down to like. 20. So that's good.

Watching college kids' reactions to "Do Some Drugs" was the best though. I think we hit a relevant point with some ears.

More news to come as the week progresses. I gotta get some footage of these bums today. Nothing like live advertisement spamming.
